You've got mail!! from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

I love Liz's comment from yesterday's post about changing up the route you walk! I have to confess that I mostly keep Murphy to the same walk. And that is done intentionally. If we change up the course, she gets even more excited than she already is, and well - I suspect that some of my knee and low back issues are a result of walking that very excitable dog! I have to keep TWO hands on the leash - not always, but at times, especially when passing a squirrel convention, which happens daily!

Lexi, on the other hand, gets ...

Creativity starts with playing like a kid from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

 Happy Canada Day!!

I had the perfect shirt for today, but I've searched everywhere, and I can't find it!! It was orange (in support of our Indigenous peoples and it had CANADA on the front of it with a maple leaf. Now, what the heck could I have done with that shirt? Sigh................

I've had a project on my to-do list (NOT The Task Master who is wicked!) for a while. I need it to be done TODAY, as well as another project. Well, today is the day, and I'm making great progress on both. They ...

Just keep walking from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

WOW -- I see that we are all experiencing quite different scenarios with the needles and fusible products. That requires a bit more research, to be sure.

And I see there are other people experiencing issues with Fitbit syncing. Thank goodness it's not just me. I can't afford to lose a single KM. My big challenge this year is to walk 4,200 KM in 365 days. I'm right on track, and you'll see more of that next week.

Not one to shirk from a fun event, three of us have signed up for The Big Canada ...

Magazine quilts from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

So you know that I'm participating in several of these virtual challenges. Most of them I'm doing solo, including walking across Canada from west to east. This year, four of us signed up to do a virtual walk across Canada from east to west. That means that at some point, our paths would cross. I knew the point was coming up soon but didn't mention it. I've been watching the maps closely for a couple of days.

Now here's the thing when you're in a group. I log my miles every day as the ...

Back to Normal from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

Back to normal - what exactly does that mean these days? We're now able to go to the movies, eat indoors at restaurants, meet in small groups, and a whole lot more. But wearing masks and social distancing is probably with us for a long, long time.

I'm OK with that. I think, as a society, we're a whole lot healthier because of it. I haven't heard many sneezes or hacking coughs. People are either too afraid to do either in public, or they are just healthier!! Which goes to show that if you're sick, you ...

Who turned up the heat? from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

Holy -- this heat is getting even crazier every day. As everyone says, it's not the heat but the humidity. Monday wasn't a very humid day, but yesterday? That was humid. Last night was the first night that I came back from the walk a tad damp. Well, much damper than usual. I honestly don't mind the heat and the humidity - I don't go running a marathon in it by any means, but it's a great excuse to do things slow and steady!

I spent a good part of the day working on the customer quilt ...

It's a good day!! from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

I just don't do well with lack of sleep. I had TWO naps yesterday. The first was in the gazebo and lasted a couple of hours. At about 4 PM, the gazebo gets sun, and at about that same time, the lounger on the deck is now in the shade, so my second nap was there. I had a great sleep last night, and I'm ME today! Not Miss Grumpy Pants!

Since I was in the gazebo a bit earlier than usual, I had to turn my chair. It's so protected by trees - it really is a ...

Celebration! from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

Yes - it was Canada Day yesterday, and it was a great day (well, any day is a great day) to be a Canadian. My only beef and it's a little one. Can the neighbors not coordinate the darn fireworks? One group would stop, and then someone else would start their display. It went on for over an hour! But if that is the worse of my concerns, then life is pretty darn good!  OH -- we more than made up for it as Murphy barked like mad at 6:50 AM this morning. Oopsy!!!!

I should mention one thing about ...
